This kombucha-based zero-proof cocktail has all of the flavors of Fall with added gut health benefits. While I leaned in heavily to some items I found at Trader Joe’s, this could easily be modified using other easily accessible ingredients. It’s tart, spicy, and just sweet enough, with a strong fizz that will quench your thirst. You will most likely find yourself making a second!
- 1.5 oz zero-proof Bourbon (I used Free Spirits)
- 1 oz pure maple syrup, or to taste (I used Trader Joe’s Bourbon Barrel Aged syrup)
- 4 oz GT’s Synergy Fall Edition Kombucha
As with all of my recipes, quantities are just a starting point- adjust to your preferred taste! Since some of these items may be hard to find, here are some alternatives I’d recommend:
- Apple Shrub + Ginger Beer instead of maple syrup + Kombucha
- Apple Cider + Club Soda instead of Kombucha, with the tiniest dash of lemon juice (when I can’t find apple cider, I use Simply Apple, which tastes almost exactly the same)
- I like the bourbon-aged syrup since this is a bourbon-based cocktail, however you could also play with a ginger or fig syrup, like Liber & Co Fiery Ginger or Liber & Co Caramelized Fig Syrup, or a cinnamon-flavored maple syrup.
Some garnish ideas include an apple twist, a cinnamon stick, or a lemon slice dipped in cinnamon & sugar.
