Who to Follow- The Sober Barkeep

One thing I’ll be doing on this blog is paying homage to others who do what I do, and spoiler alert, most of them do it better! My first highlight is a YouTube channel I came across, The Sober Barkeep. Brian Anderson is the host of this channel, and his videos are fantastic resources for those looking for honest reviews on NA beers, wines, liquors, and pre-mixed drinks, as well as for recipes.

The Sober Barkeep videos have both saved me money, as with his review on Escape Single Malt Scotch, as well as convinced me to run as fast as I can and pick up things with great reviews, like his review on Free Spirits Co Spirit of Bourbon. He is descriptive and authentic, and I can really get a “feel” for the experience unlike relying website reviews alone.

While the “Old Fashioned” has come into vogue the last 10 years, I was eating bourbon-soaked cherries out of my mom’s Old Fashioned when I was just a kid, and fighting my sister with the leftover plastic swords. An Old Fashioned to me is a warm, cable-knit sweater, a chunky afghan, and the exact favorite movie for whatever mood I’m in. At 27% ABV, the alcoholic version of this drink goes down too easily when I’m looking for comfort. So I’m very much looking forward to trying his zero proof Old Fashioned recipe, among many others on his channel.

So, an enormous THANKS to The Sober Barkeep for putting out such quality content and becoming one of my “must check” resources before I buy. Please go subscribe to his channel! You can also follow him on Facebook.
