Well, this Hazy IPA is absolutely delightful. Two Roots is based out of San Diego, but owns Rochester Mills brewing facility, not too far from where I live. I was able to find it at my local grocery store. It has all of the delights of a real beer and none of the funk. The balance of hoppiness and juiciness is perfect, and there’s no bitter aftertaste. My allergies are having a moment, but the smell is NOTABLE (and by that, I mean fabulous.) It’s citrus-y with a hint of pineapple on the nose, and I definitely recommend drinking this one in a glass.
The can description reads: “Blending the best of New England and West Coast IPA styles, bold juicy hops create a crisp finish and hint of bitterness, taming this restless, brave, wildly independent IPA.” It has less than 0.5% ABV and a 12oz can contains 120 calories and 28g of carbohydrates.
You may be able to find the New West IPA at your local grocer, Better Rhodes, or directly from Two Roots. I recommend also picking up a 6-pack of their Dark Cookies Milk Stout while it’s available!
